Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are one of the latest developments that has
sprung from the rapid advancement of the Internet. A VPN leverages the internet
to seamlessly connect geographically dispersed workforces. If your business has
more than one office or employees on the run, then a VPN may be right for you.
VPNs are a much lower cost alternative to Wide Area Networks (WANs). A WAN is
essentially the same as a local computer network, except the network is wired
between two or more remote locations. The cost of laying cable for miles between
two offices is essentially beyond the reach of all but the largest corporations.
VPNs bypass the need for expensive location to location wiring by using the
existing structure of the Internet and telephone lines. Each location has a VPN
device that encrypts and decodes the information being sent across the phone
lines between the separate locations. The end result is the appearance of both
locations acting as a single network, wherein users can share files,
collaborate, etc.
VPNs can be installed and implemented in a variety of ways for a multiple of purposes.
Danick Systems can help you find the right product for your needs and make the necessary
preparations for installation. We will work with the major VPN
manufactures to ensure that you have a seamless integration of VPN and that it
will perform as advertised.
